In the 22nd century Japan, the justice system and the enforcement that comes with it has drastically changed. With the help from the Sybil system, Officers called Inspectors to use the Sybil system to determine the threat level of each citizen by examining their mental state for signs of criminal intent, known as their Psycho-Pass.
Stepping into this world is Akane Tsunemori with a strong sense for what she thinks is justice, teaming up with enforcer Shinya Kougami everything she thinks she knows is turned on its ugly head, nothing is as it seems.
Every opening and ending for psycho pass for me has a base defiantly the two openings and the first ending but for the last ending for goes to show for how deeply sad how things turn out for the main characters especially for Kougami.
As the story suggests Akene is our main character, as the series goes on you realize it’s not just Akene’s story we’re following, its Kougami’s as well as he hunts for the person, who killed his last partner causing himself to become an enforcer.
Kougami has to be on my top ten men in anime with an awesome body, Kougami in the series seems cold-hearted at first but then we go to believe he became a criminal in order to find out who killed his friend. Kougami’s sense of justice becomes warped as he is able to find out of the nameless villain’s name.
Sometimes I think that Ginoza is an unnecessary main character as an annoying senior officer and certainly didn’t deserve the screen time he got but as the series went on Ginoza started to grow on me as we learned more about his past and his father who ended up being of the enforcers on the team.
The other characters of MWPSB Division 1 are important to the story but are not necessary in my eyes, characters such as Yayoi Kunizuka and Shusei Kagari but to the story writer apparently they were deemed necessary as it wouldn’t be a team without a few extra body’s to help.
From start to finish the animation of psycho pass always amazed me from the fight scenes, chase scenes and the bloody goorey shit that made the show even better, sometimes I wouldn’t even tear my eyes from the screen I was just too engrossed.
It always made me think I was transported to the future.
From the start of the series, nothing made sense as they just threw us into the world of psycho pass meeting Akane and her first mission on the job, her sense of justice and how didn’t like the fact that the sibil system would make her kill a woman who had been traumatized and had not committed a crime.
as the episodes we went on we learned of the true plot of the series of a man who was killing and not raising his psycho pass, manipulating humans to kill and change the way they see the world, acting on impulse without changing they’re psycho passes in the process, this for me made the show more interesting and mysterious and it was really what drew me in.
I suggest you give psycho pass a watch if you like surprises and a little amount of horror.
