My Favorite Junichi Suwabe Roles

As much as I love, English Voice actors I love Japanese Seiyu’s and I can pick a few voices out in Japanese including my favorite Japanese Voice actors.

Junichi Suwabe has been in the industry since 1999, when he first appeared in the anime Great Teacher Onizuka, and has since appeared in a slew of other shows, so I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite Junichi roles!

5. Ren jinguuji (Uta no Prince sama)

It was very hard choosing my favorite roles but when looking through his MyAnimeList, Ren kept on coming up and I just had to choose him for my number 5 favorite role, The thing is that I love about Junichi’s voice it can be very seductive in a way that my whole heart melts.

Plus his singing voice is much like an angel’s.

4. Archer (Fate/Stay Night)

Don’t get me wrong I love Liam O’brians’s take on Archer but as Always Junichi knows how to voice a character so well, he has a very beautiful voice but knows how to make it stronger for a character like Archer.

3. Akira Hayama (Shokugeki no Soma)

When I was first introduced to Hayama It took me a while to figure out that Junichi voiced Akira.

I chose Hayama because he was very different character to his other roles he has been given, there was always something high almighty about him and I always loved it, Food wars is in my top 10 anime and I will miss it.

2. Undertaker (Black Butler)

I am a big fan of Black Butler and I have watched it from the get go in dub but when book of the Atlantic came out I had to watch it in Japanese and then I was introduced to Junichi’s take on the undertaker and I have to say, he absoutley slays!

He absoutley nails the undertaker’s specific laugh.

1. Aomine Daiki (Kuroko no Basket)

Aomine Daiki is one of my favorite bad boys, Junichi’s voice paired with Aomine’s personality makes it a perfect fit (also with Benjamin Diskin for the dub)

Back in 2018, Kuroko no Basket was one of my most favorite anime’s I loved watching and it was the reason I chose this character for my favorite Junichi Role in anime.

Runner Ups

Yami Sukihiro – Black Clover

Mrs Hudson – Kabukichou sherlock

Shota Aizawa – My hero acadamia

Sukuna Ryoumen – Jujutsu Kaisen

Katsuto Juumonji – Irregular at Magic High school

This decision wasn’t made lightly…

I bet your wondering what’s going on?

Well hear me out

Hi most of you know me as Tori over at Art of Anime its been a pleasure writing blogs over the last year and a half.

I’m actually almost to a 100 blog posts which is amazing!

But this summer made me realize something…

I have absolutely no time to write anything good at the moment, because working for one of the biggest holiday camps in the UK is very hard work and especially that I’m the only team member my manager has at the moment she can trust (sometimes I don’t even see why lol)

I am working over 40 hours a week with only one day off every 8-9 days or so, and the fact that I am also a university student with summer homework doesn’t help one little bit.

I realized you guys are my salvation when it comes to blogging about something I’ve loved for almost 10 years. (still got another 3 years to go 😉 )

But there is a line I must not cross and so as of Today Art of anime is shutting down…

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Got you there for a second didn’t you 😉

Well tbh its not entirely not true, I will be leaving the Art of anime blog, and will be returning on

24th September at 5pm

So mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen, This will give me time to finish my summer job, move back to university and get settled in and to get a lot of summer homework done.

I will still be around you can find me on my twitter page @artof_anime as I love to talk to my community.

Am I slowly leaning out of Dub and into the world of Sub?

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!

Welcome to Art of Anime

It’s been a while since I sat down and wrote something about myself as an anime otaku, and one of the most common questions I get as an anime fan is, “Do you watch anime in Sub or Dub?”

If you know me or have been here for a while, you know that I enjoy watching dub. I’ve been doing so since I was 16 years old, and I’ve seen 95 percent of the anime on my list in dub.

  • Ouran highschool host club
  • Highschool dxd
  • Tokyo Ghoul
  • Black Butler

Since Covid, America’s inept president has done little to assist his population, so when the pandemic struck, our favourite dubbing studios, such as Funimation, were forced to close their doors and work from home, and dubs began to arrive slowly and infrequently for us to watch.

When new anime came out, I took it upon myself to start every new anime in sub, and if I didn’t like it, I’d have to wait a long time for the English dub, so I took it upon myself to start every new anime in sub, and if I didn’t like it, I’d have to wait a long time for the English dub.

or so I thought.

Just recently I have found myself watching more sub than dub and then when the dub does come out I’m sitting there and I’m like

The Fall 2020 Collection, and then from then on I think 99% of the season from then on I continued watching anime in sub because when the dub came out, I felt like because american’s were working from home, the quality wasn’t as good ( I just want to say even though the quality wasn’t good, I thank every single person working for funimation, bangzoom and aniplex for the wonderful work they do).

They chose to dub the second season of The Irregular of magic high school and I asked myself WHY!! . Why dub the second season when you can dub the first, and then I heard a sneak peak and I instantly wanted to throw my phone at the screen!

The Irregular of magic high school is one of the anime’s I can watch so many times and not get bored off, I was so happy when season 2 came out and then they dubbed it and ruined it (sorry not sorry)

More anime’s came out that season like Yuukoku no Moriarty, Noblesse, Jujutsu Kaisen ect and I can honestly tell you, I loved every second of this season.

Both Noblesse and Jujutsu Kaisen were dubbed, and when I compared the dub and sub versions, I preferred the sub. Not that the dub in Jujutsu Kaisen was horrible, but I preferred Nobara’s voice in sub to her dub voice.

However, the sub was shockingly terrible when it came to Noblesse. Horimiya came out in Winter 2021 and I must say I absolutely loved the sub, it was a true masterpiece and was easily my favorite of the season but then they starting dubbing it, I just never went near the dub (it was terrible and again sorry not sorry)

The title of this blog was ‘Am I slowly leaning out of Dub and into the world of Sub?’

I think my tastes are changing as I get older, but I don’t think I’ll ever stop watching anime since you can learn a lot more than you think.

Although dub will always hold a special place in my heart, I will continue to watch my current series in sub for the time being.

Here are some anime I’d rather watch in sub than dub

  • Irregular at Magic High school
  • Jujutsu Kaisen
  • Nobelesse
  • Horimiya
  • Haikyuu
  • Shokugeki no Soma

I would love to get people’s thoughts on this matter so please comment bellow!

Anime Discussion: My favorite Couples/Ships

As one of my favorite anime’s end and the guy gets the girl, I wondered which are my favorite Couples and ships

Small disclaimer: This is in now way rated from 1 to 10 its just counting all of them.

so here you go!

1. Couple: Kyo and Tohru from Fruit Basket

Kyo Sohma and Tohru Honda

The remake is finally finished and I defiantly cried into my dinner while watching the final episode.

We knew back in the day when we watched the original that we weren’t getting the whole story so people went to read the manga and ending up spoiling it for all of us by telling the voice actors that they are both married.

Watching the love between these two grow was a definite privilege to get a story such as fruits basket, to me it is one of the greatest anime’s of all times.

Natsuki Takaya is simply a great manga artist

2. Couple: Usui and Misaki from Maid Sama

Usui Takumi and Misaki Ayuzawa

Usui and Misaki, even though only having one season they deserve a round of applause as I have read the manga because I see no new season in the near future.

it’s actually quite a funny and sweet relationship between Usui and Misaki but it’s nice that he keeps her secret that she is a maid, at the end of the season, they confess that they like each other.

Since Maid Sama came out quite a while ago so Takumi and Ayuzawa are a couple anime lovers know and love.

3. Ship: Ash and Eiji from Banana Fish

Ash Lynx and Eiji Okumura

Banana Fish came out in 2018 and Ash and Eiji became the talk of the town slowly taking over the ship of Yuri and Viktor.

These two are adorable and their story was very tragic but it was lovely to see the two friends connect, and I was not ready for the ending they gave us, these two deserved better.

4. Couple: Asuna and Kirito from Sword Art Online

Kazuto Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki

Kirito and Asuna are a well-known couple in anime, even though many people hate on sword art online, I actually like it and in turn, I love these two as Partners, Husband and wife and Boyfriend and Girlfriend, these two are just the cutest pair ever!!

5. Ship: Natsu and Lucy from Fairy Tail

Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heatfilia

NATSU AND LUCY have always been in my heart ever since I first started watching fairy tail back in the day, these two were the main act and will forever be in my heart!

6. Ship: Gajeel and Levy from Fairy Tail

Gajeel Redfox and Levy McGarden

These two became a couple at the end of the final season but they aren’t considered official in the eyes of the author, Gajeel confessed his love to Levy as he thought he was dying, these broke my heart watching them two drift apart.

There reunion was very beautiful

7. Ship: Kogami and Akane from Psycho-Pass

Kogami Shinya and Akane Tsunemori

These two are an unusual pairing for the anime community but Kogami and Akane were a very good pair when working together.

Throughout the season Akane slightly changes as she gets closer to Kogami, sometimes we asks ourselves, was it healthy for Akane to meet Kogami in the first place, I say no but when shipping them together, I’d say they are the most adult pairing I’ve shipped.

8. Couple: Takeo and Rinko from My Love story

Takeo Gouda and Rinko Yammato

I hate pure romance anime’s but there is something about my love story that there is still humanity left in the world for the oddest couple to become one of the best love story’s out there for me.

If you haven’t watched this series yet, Go do so!!

9. Ship: Soul and Maka from Soul Eater

Soul Evans and Maka Albarn

Maka and Soul. Weapon and meister.

Their wavelength must be in sync to work together so in some ways there is some level of commitment between them both.

they worry about each other, there are scenes I could watch over and over again as they protect each other from evil, They are concerned for each other, as they are connected I would have loved for them to be together in the end.

10. Couple: Naruto and Hinata from Naruto

Need I say more.

The more I watch Boruto episodes, I see Hinata support Naruto even though he’s never around or misses the children’s birthdays.

they support each other in many ways and I will continue to support them for just as long I see them on the screen.

Summer 2021 collection and What I’ll be watching

A new season is fast approaching and for a while we have known what will be out this Summer, and I know for a fact us as a community have picked our ones that we really want to watch and here is my list!

1. Vanitas no Carte

Release date: July 3rd
Trailer

The minute I saw the first trailer for this way back when, I honestly thought it was beautiful and I thought nothing less of Studio BONES who is producing this wonderful anime this summer.

The animation looks beautiful, the story sounds interesting, I am very excited to watch this every week.

2. Tantei wa mou, Shindeiru

Release Date: July 4th
Trailer

This anime called ‘The detective is already dead’ is being produced by studio ENGI which is relatively new studios that started producing in 2019.

Even though it has an official trailer it has no words or subtitles which makes it more interesting to give a go when it releases soon, I love a good detective anime so I’m looking forward to what this anime will give us.

3. Uramichi Oniisan

Release date: July 6th

This anime is my first wild card of this season, produced by Studio BLANC.

I think I’m more interested in watching this because of the voice cast more than the anime itself, we have some great voices like Hiroshi Kamiya (Levi in Attack on Titan), Ryouhei Kimura (Bokuto in Haikyuu), Mamoru Miyano (Osamu Dazai in Bungo stray dogs) and Yuuichi Nakamura (Gojou in Jujustsu Kaisen).

4. Deatte 5-byou de Battle

Release Date: July 13th

The second wild card this season, produced apparently by 2 studios SynergySP and Vega entertainment. (I’ve never seen this happen before)

There isn’t much known about this anime as there isn’t any subtitles to the trailer yet, unlike The detective is already dead, this trailer has got speaking in it but if you don’t know Japanese it just sounds like a bunch of words.

I’m interested in what this anime will give.

5. Mahouka Koukou no Yuutousei

Release Date: July 3rd

Irregular at magic high school has always been a top anime for me, Its very special to me and I love re-watching it.

When we got season 2 I was overjoyed and now we get another anime but from Miyuki’s side of season 1 which intrigues me. Yes we got to see a lot of miyuki in the first side of the anime but it was always from Tatsuya’s point of view, I’m really excited to see what Miyuki’s problems were being one of the most talented magicians of her time.

6. SCARLET NEXUS

Release Date: July 1st

Scarlet nexus much like Vanitas no Carte is a much watch this season and I’m excites to watch it, this official trailer gives us a sneak peek into the anime and it is another series I will be watching every week instead of building up the episodes until I cant wait anymore.

Detective Conan’s best cases

So just recently the previous post to this hit 150 views and I thought to myself what made it so popular?

So today I give you some of the best cases of Detective Conan.

Episode 521-523 Murderer!, Shinichi Kudo

Heiji takes Kazuha, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan to East Okuho after receiving a letter from Makoto Okuda addressed to Shinichi.

The letter tells Shinichi to meet with him so he could justify Shinichi’s deduction mistake from his past investigation. Upon arrival, the group discovers that Makoto has been missing for over a year and that everyone hates Shinichi because of this said mistake.

Conan recovering from a nasty cold separates from the group and heads to the meeting place disclosed in the letter and is eventually trapped inside a shed by an unknown culprit. Conan realizes he took the antidote to the APTX 4869 instead of his cold medication and flees through a window, falling into the river before reverting to Shinichi.

When Conan/Shinichi is found, he apparently has lost his memories. The villagers assume Shinichi was cursed by the Shiragami, a forest god, resulting in his amnesia. Heiji finds out from Haibara that is Shinichi retained his amnesia after revering back to Conan in 24 hours, his identity would be revealed.

Heiji discovers that Shinichi was summoned to investigate the mayor’s and his wife’s murders a year ago, which were determined to be a forced double suicide . Misato Kawauchi, a journalist, threatens to expose Shinichi’s secret unless he confesses to faking his amnesia. Kawauchi is discovered with a stab wound the next day, with Shinichi standing behind her holding a knife.

Is Shinichi the Murderer?

Episode 616-621 Holmes’ Revelation

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan come across a cat belonging to a wealthy British woman who agrees to pay for their trip to London so Kogoro can tell her friends about his detective adventures. Haibara gives Conan two antidotes to the APTX 4869 for the trip and the return trip to get past airport screening.

A young boy named Apollo Glass approaches the Sherlock Holmes museum and demands to see Holmes’ Apprentice in order to decipher a code that will prevent a murder. Conan proposes that he solve the puzzle by impersonating Holmes’ Apprentice. Apollo reveals that a mysterious man gave him a note with seven coded riddles and a warning that if they are not solved, someone in London will die. They hear from the cops that a large number of children have received the same code, which Conan interprets as a large number of people would perish. While attempting to decipher the riddles, Conan and Agasa isolate themselves from the rest of the party.

Can Conan, Agasa and the rest of the party solve the puzzles before it is too late?

Episode 669-670 The Dark Tower’s Hidden Treasure

The Detective Boys meet Nanami Kyoudou, whose grandfather, Seitarou Kyoudou is the one who built “The Black Tower”, rumored to have no entrance and treasure hidden within. Later, they visit her house, where Nanami Kyoudou’s mother, Momoe Kyoudou has apparently been pushed off of the Black Tower trying to find the treasure within it.

The Detective Boys explore the building, which is packed with various illusions, even more determined to find an entrance. Ayumi and Haibara need to use the toilet. However, after Haibara instructs Ayumi to proceed, she falls through a secret passageway concealed behind a bathroom mirror. Ayumi immediately informs the boys of Haibara’s disappearance, and they begin an investigation of the restroom; as a result, Conan notices wind coming from the mirror, but is unable to enter the passageway behind it.

Conan is alerted by Mitsuhiko that there is a storeroom next door, and the Detective Boys rush next door to check the storeroom, convinced that there is another entrance. They find two mirrors there: one large one attached to the wall (though it appears to be leaning against it) and the other smaller one on a desk. Ayumi discovers that the smaller mirror is covered in the same strong perfume Momoe Kyoudou is wearing, inadvertently flips the mirror, and the large mirror Conan was investigating slides down to reveal a masking tape-covered entrance.

Can the Detective boys find Haibara, solve the mystery of the tower and how Momoe died from falling from a tower that has no entrance?

Episode 701-704 The Jet-Black Mystery Train

After Haibara’s identity is slowly found out by the black organization (Vermouth who already knows and her new partner Bourbon) the detective boys and party head the jet-black mystery train experience.

The Detective Boys discover that the train normally only runs once a year, but that this year will be different because Jirokichi Suzuki wants to run it a month later in an effort to lure Kaitou Kid out once more. Sonoko also intends to leave her love letter for Kid in the train car, where he will be able to read it. Masumi Sera appears out of nowhere and expresses her interest in the deduction quiz that will take place on the train.

The mystery game begins and the detective boys are on the case while Haibara is trying to keep herself hidden from prying eyes,

When Scar Akai leaves one of the rooms, Haibara, who is slightly behind Conan’s party, follows them half-hardheartedly. Scar Akai, however, who is dressed in a formal outfit, ignores her and continues walking in the opposite direction. Haibara manages to catch a glimpse of him.

Noticing something is wrong with the mystery game that is supposed to be some harmless fun ends up going horribly wrong as a murder takes place.

Can the murder be solved and can Haibara save herself from impending doom as the black organization close in

Nishiki, the film’s screenwriter, obtained the code along with red aralia leaves, which are native to Kyoto.

Not even having time to solve the clue Shinichi gets a text from Keiko, telling him to come to them straight away, after arriving with Sera they find Nishiki dead in his hotel room and that blood is splattered over the ceiling, along with footprints, as Shinichi becomes close to becoming Conan again he switches places with Hattori and goes to sleep leaving Masumi to help the police.

In the morning Hattori and Shinichi wake up and head back to the crime scene after finding out something was wrong, when they arrive Agata San is in trouble and when they arrive they see a massive tengu on the ceiling, Agata proceeds to throw his ashtray at it, it bursts into flames and disappears.

Hiroyuki Sawano is Arguably one of the best anime music composers of all time

If you’ve been a anime lover for quite some time and watched A LOT of different anime you will no doubt have come across the music in the background mostly for fight scenes or just anime in General then you must know Music composer and Japanese Artist Hiroyuki Sawano.

Who is Hiroyuki Sawano?

Hiroyuki was born September 12th , 1980 in Tokyo, Japan.

He began playing Piano in elementary school, From the age of 17 he studied composition, arrangement, orchestration, and piano under Nobuchika Tsuboi.

He has been active as a composer since 2004.

In 2014, he launched song project under the name “SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]”, producing the first album ‘UnChild’ with Aimer as the vocalist under the name SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer.

He has worked with many other artists such as Mika Kobayashi, Gemie, Tielle, Yosh

Even though hes a composer he has also done vocal song projects that have been used as openings and ending themes for various anime such as Aldnoah Zero, Seraph of the end ect.

How I came across Hiroyuki

I came across Hiroyuki when I was 15 and I came across the anime ‘Guilty Crown’ and the song ‘BIOC’ got stuck in my head because I really liked it.

Then I saw Attack on Titan, and it wasn’t until a couple of years ago, when I was at the height of my anime watching, that I looked into the composers of some of the greatest songs I’d ever heard, despite the fact that I didn’t understand what the words meant but the composition of the music sent my heart fluttering.

His most popular pieces and my personal favorites

If you asked other anime watchers that know of his music his most popular pieces are

The Attack on Titan Soundtrackshttps://attackontitan.fandom.com/wiki/”Attack_on_Titan”_Original_Soundtrack

Seraph of the endhttps://owarinoseraph.fandom.com/wiki/Seraph_of_the_End_Original_Soundtrack

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortresshttps://koutetsujou-no-kabaneri.fandom.com/wiki/Original_Soundtrack

My favorite songs have to be

Why I think this?

Looking back on his accomplishments, if it weren’t for composers like Joe Hisaishi (composer of the Ghibili movies), Yoko Kanno (composer of one of my favorite anime’s of all time, Zankyou no Terror), and Kenji Kawai (composer of anime music such as Ghost in the Shell and most recently no guns no life), It would be very hard to call him one of the best anime music composers of all time.

But when it comes to the music he writes and composes his music makes me smile and feel warm inside when I’m trying to sing along.

When it comes to Hiroyuki Sawano, hes going to continue to rise to higher heights and I will continue to listen to every song he brings out.

Part 1- Art of Anime and Celestial Sparkles collaboration

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen!

I and Celeste agreed to do a small collaboration of our two blogs, as you can see from the title.

We have become quite good friends since we found out we lived in such close proximity of each other and we have a lot in common such as our love for Animal Crossing.

Today Ill be picking out 5 of Celeste’s post, reading them and basically giving my own opinion of them.

So without further a do, Let’s get started!

Mahoutsukai no Yome Review – August 2020

As I read through this review of Mahoutsukai no yome/the ancient magus bride, I must admit that it far surpasses my review.

Celeste first discusses the show and what to expect if you plan to watch it, then she offers her thoughts.

She then goes on to talk about what she likes about the show and some parts of it, as well as her final feelings, after going through it.

She sums up her final thoughts and asks what everyone else thinks at the end.

I have to say I agree with everything she has to say.

Fruit’s Basket (2019) Episode One – October 2020

This Fruits basket review is the first ever episode review Celeste did!

The greatest thing about this first review is that she doesn’t spoil anything which is a really hard thing to do for the first time.

It is a very short and sweet little episode review, and from this she has been able to build on them.

then leading onto reviewing episodes of Horimiya last season.

Top 10 Favorite Anime Openings and Endings – December 2020

As I go through Celeste’s list of top 10 favorite openings and endings I feel like she really likes Gundam.

Unfortunately I can only agree with one song and that is SPLASH FREE.” by STYLE FREE from Iwatobi Swim club.

It is a very wide range of different songs to like It’s defiantly a different list to what I would listen to.

It seems this post was a tag from a fellow blogger

Top 10 Anime That I Want To Watch! – January 2021

Celeste celebrating the 12 days of anime challenge, she talks about the 10 anime she wants to watch or finish watching this year.

I was really surprised at the most of this list I’ve not watched or Im currently watching, so which ones is that?

Chihayafuru – Watching

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari. – not watched

Kuroshitsuji– watched

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso– not watched

Aria the Origination – not watched

Gundam 00 – not watched

Bakemonogatari – not watched

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken– not watched

Yakusoku no Neverland – not watched

5-toubun no Hanayome– not watched

I wonder how many you’ve watched off this list?

Upcoming 2021 Movies That I Am Excited About. – January 2021

I am very excited about this list! and i defiantly see some similarities in what we both like.

Reading this post I found out that Sailor moon is getting a new movie which I am so excited for!!

My hero 3 is coming in summer and apparently its a play on an arc in the manga.

I have watched the first two fate spring song movies so I’m so excited for the next dub movie to come out since the sub is already online.

I wonder how many of them you will want to watch this year?

Thanks for Reading!!

Be sure to check Celeste out by heading to howanimestuffworks

Spring 2021 collection and what I will be watching

A new season is fast approaching and for a while we have known what will be out this spring, and I know for a fact us as a community have picked our ones that we really want to watch and here is my list!

1. MHA Season 5

Release Date: 27th March

Lets start with MHA Season 5 and its defiantly a long waited anime, because I waited so long that I actually read the anime arc in the manga, who wouldn’t want to watch the latest season of My hero academia that has been going on for long and touched so many hearts from little kids to adults like myself.

2. How to not summon a demon lord omega

Release Date: 9th April

I absolutely loved the first season of this show, and I was defiantly wasn’t expecting a second season, I am also hoping that funimation uses the previous dub cast they did for season two that including Jad saxton and Eric Vale.

3. Moriarty the Patriot Season 2

Release Date: 4th April

OMG I wouldn’t miss this anime for the world, I wont be saving them to watch all at once like I did with the Winter season, this anime was defiantly my number one of Fall of 2020.

I defiantly didn’t see the point in splitting the seasons in half but Its defiantly been a good wait.

(if you haven’t seen season 1 yet GO AND DO SO!!)

4. Koi to Yobu ni wa Kimochi warui

Release Date: April

I found this anime while I was searching through YouTube, I am actually really excited to see where the story goes, I’m honestly not a big romance fan (even though I absolutely love the anime My love story and skip beat)

I honestly don’t know how they come up with these stories.

5. Mars Red

Release Date: 6th April

Mars red is defiantly the unusual one of my list that I’m not sure if Ill end up watching until the end of the season , I think the only real season I’ve decided to give this one a try is one of the voice actors is Junichi Suwabe who is my favorite Male Japanese VA besides Takehito Koyasu.

6. 86

Release Date: April

Unfortunately this is another anime I’m not actually sure I will continue with, this anime drew me in with a fantastic trailer, the voice actors are sub par and not much is known about it, Lets just see if the first couple of episodes can draw me in?

7. Fruits baskets Final Season

Release Date: 6th April

I don’t know who wouldn’t be watching the last season of Fruits basket, we got the first real look at Fruits basket back in 2001 and stopped at a certain point and I know everyone wanted more, because of the long wait a lot of people have read the manga and know how the ending is going to turn out, but is the anime sticking to the actual manga?

I think it is and no matter how much this is a romance anime, there are a lot of underlying issues we find in the characters and very dark pasts and feelings that also draw us in to Finish watching the final season of Fruits Basket.

Who is Art of Anime?

How did you get into anime?

Little did I know my very first anime was Tokyo mew mew, but back then it was called mew mew power and they had the English dub on UK television! (very surprising)

It wasn’t until I was 15 that my best friends started to watch Hetalia: Axis Powers and I decided to join in, I ABSOLUTELY hated it, I thought it was ridiculous so my friend lent me her DVD of Black Butler.

Sebastian had to be my first anime crush, I loved Black Butler so much I started watching more and more, the first anime’s I think watched was Tokyo Ghoul, Darker than Black, Ouran high school host club and my first ever favorite anime I had to be Guilty Crown.

In 2016 I attended my first comic con with my friend at Manchester, since then I have been 3 times, I constantly watch anime as a daily thing, I am that invested when I watch anime I can pick out VA voices and know who they are immediately, and that is the same for both Sub and dub 😉

How did you get into blogging?

Last year I got the news that my flights were canceled and I was supposed to be heading to Japan (yes japan) and on the 31st March, Japan closed its borders and then COVID-19 took a turn for the worst and the United kingdom went into its very first Lockdown.

Since I had absolutely nothing to do, and my life had turned tits up I was stuck at home wondering where the next bit of my life would go? I have been watching anime since I was 15 and to say I’m 22 now and have watched over 200 different titles maybe even more is impressive.

1 year ago today I decided I was going to do what I’d wanted to do in such a long time, start a blog and reviewing the things I loved the most and never would I have thought to be a part of a community I’m extremely proud off.

Just the other day I got a few words of Encouragement from a fellow blogger and I realized I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

Have any Anime Preferences?

Women have the freedom to watch whatever they want, but the misconception is that girls watch romance/shoujo anime. I can’t tell I’m different because I enjoy anime like Skip Beat and Ore Monogatari!! and Kamisama Hajimemashita.

But I spend 90% of my time watching Shounen anime, and my favorites include Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach

I love My hero academia, Fairy tail and atm my favorite has to be Black Clover (that I’m not honestly ready for next Tuesday)

if you want to check out my top 10 anime (will need be updating at some point) head over to https://art-of-an-ime.com/my-top-10-anime/

Soon Ill be coming out with a review of the Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather movie that came out last year and I must admit I am a secret Fujoshi and I have watched many Yaoi anime’s and read many Yaoi Manga.

Subs or dubs?

As I always repeat on my reviews I’m always a pro dub anime watcher mainly because it was what me and my friends watched, Funimation was always my go to as I love watching anime’s directed by Mike McFarland such as Attack on Titan, Caitlin Glass such as Fruits basket and Zach Bolton such as Psycho pass.

Since last year dubs have been coming very slow, due to voice actors keeping safe and because of that I had the choice to wait for the dub to come out which could take some time or just watch the sub, since then I have watched more anime in sub such as Horimiya (which I’m sorry the dub is just terrible) and Jujutsu Kaisen.

In the past if an anime hasn’t been dubbed and I really wanted to watch it sub would be my only answer such as Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basket and Food wars who in recent years each has a dub, but since I watched them in sub first, I am pro sub for these certain anime titles.

Has there been a time you’ve given up watching anime for a short period of time

As a I grow Older I certainly feel like I watch less and less anime as I try and get my life on track and struggle to get through my degree.

When 2021 rolled around I decided to just watch a few anime or catch up on some that I’ve not manged to watch yet, for the winter season I’ve managed to save Attack on Titan, Beastars, sk8 infinity and log horizon, I have many episodes to binge watch this next week coming up!

I never thought that I would stop anime and I don’t think I will, but I think once I start my 3rd year at University who knows whether I’ll have the time.

How long do you think your going to blog for?

Obviously its been a whole entire year already!

I started when the first lock down occurred when I didn’t have much to do, I have a small feeling if I’ve been able post while I’ve been juggling everything I’ve needed to do.

Then there is most certainly going to be another year of blogging!

If you could choose any of your first 10 blogs to rewrite, which one would it be and why?

If I had the time, I’d go back and rewrite most of my early blogs, from Gangsta to Kill la Kill. I definitely feel like my writing has improved as I’ve progressed through my degree and learned how to critically evaluate art, which is similar to reviewing anime.

Maybe during summer when I have a bit of free time I’ll be re-uploading some of my earlier work.

Anyone you want to give a special shout out to?

My first shout out has to be to Roki B over at @Solitarycubbyh , this guy was the first to welcome me to the community when I first started out, I feel like he has secretly supported me from the shadows this year and I’m eternity grateful.

Celeste over at @CSparkles60 has to be a special one to me, we have gotten so close lately due to the fact that we both have an obsession with Animal Crossing, and that we both live in the UK. Celeste has been my go to girl and very grateful to have her in my life ❤

Rose over at @melo__nsoda we bonded over Moriarty the Patriot last year and became close! Its nice to know we have similar tastes in anime, and I cant wait to Fan girl with her once season two comes out in a week or so 😀

Cody over at @CodyLatosh I feel me and him started at the same time but since it says he was around since 2017 I guess that wasn’t the case! I really enjoy reading his reviews and opinions and the other day sent me a really supportive message so many thanks Cody for the support

and last but not least YumDeku over at @YumDeku, YumDeku messaged me at the beginning of this year, after talking for a bit he convinced me to get a domain name, to start setting up ads, he is the reason why I art-of-an-ime.com exsists instead of .wordpress.com

But it isn’t just these 5, its everyone who has supported me and followed my journey for this entire year!

Thanks for coming on this journey with me!
